Custom Report Builder
Feature overview
The Custom Report Builder allows you to generate tailored insights beyond the predefined Closed Won and Closed Lost reports. Accessible from the Custom tab on the Insights page, the builder opens a multi‑step drawer where you define the type of analysis, time frame, audience and filters. When finished, you name the report and generate it. Custom reports are useful for analyzing seller performance, comparing sellers or studying cohort trends across multiple deals.
The builder guides you through four steps:
- Select report type- choose the kind of insight you want. Options include:
- Individual Seller Performance and Behavior Analysis- evaluates a single seller’s activities and outcomes.
- Compare Sellers’ Performance- compares performance metrics across multiple sellers.
- Cohort Analysis: Patterns and Trends Over a Cohort of Deals- analyses a group of deals to identify common patterns.
- Select reporting period- define the lookback period for your analysis. Choose from preset ranges (e.g., last 3 months, last year) or set a custom date range using the date‑range picker. The builder explains that the report will be generated based on deal activities during the selected time window.
- Add filters and select people- customize your report by selecting sellers or applying filters. Available filters include deal stage, deal amount, company size, days to close, industry, lead source and deal owner. For “Individual Seller” or “Compare Sellers” reports, you can choose one or multiple sellers to analyze. For cohort reports, you can optionally add filters to refine the cohort.
- Name and review- provide a title for your report, review your selected options and save. This step summarizes the chosen insight type, time range and filters. Once saved, the report appears in your custom insights list and can be revisited later.
Using the Custom Report Builder
- Open the Custom tab. Navigate to the Insights page and click theCustom Then click Build a Custom Report to open the report builder drawer.
- Follow the stepper interface. The builder shows numbered steps with labels like “Select Report Type”, “Select Reporting Period”, “Select the Person(s) You’d Like to Analyze / Optional Filters” and “Name and Review”. The current step is highlighted; completed steps are marked as completed. Use theNext and Back buttons to navigate between steps.
- Specify report options.
- InStep 1, choose an insight type from the available list; the description explains what each type analyses.
- InStep 2, pick a preset lookback period or set a custom date range; for custom ranges, select start and end dates in the date picker.
- InStep 3, if analyzing individual sellers or comparing sellers, select one or multiple sellers. You can also add optional filters such as deal stage, amount ranges, days to close, company size, industry, lead source and deal owner. The available filters adjust depending on the report type.
- Review and save. In the final step, enter a descriptive report title and review your selections. Adjust options if necessary. ClickSave & Finish to generate the report; it will be added to your list of custom insights. You can open existing custom reports from the Insights page to view or edit them.
By leveraging the Custom Report Builder, you can create targeted analyses tailored to your team’s unique questions - whether measuring an individual’s performance, comparing sellers or analyzing trends across a cohort of deals.
