Closed Won / Closed Lost Deal Insights Reports

Feature overview

Intersight’s Insights page helps you understand patterns across your deals. It includes two pre‑built report types:

  • Closed Won insights- analyses deals that you won to uncover behaviors and tactics that led to success. You can review which deal stages, activities or messaging strategies correlate with conversions.
  • Closed Lost insights- analyses deals that you lost to identify common pitfalls and obstacles. Use this report to learn why prospects walked away and how to improve future opportunities.

These reports are accessible from the Insights page via tabs labelled Closed Won and Closed Lost. They summarize opportunities within the selected time frame and scope. Each insight card includes the company name, deal title, call stage, value, close date and whether the insight is new. You can toggle between card and table views for the report and filter results by time range (e.g., last quarter, last month) and ownership scope (all opportunities vs. just your own).

Insight types

The insights page supports three tabs: ClosedWon, ClosedLost and Custom. Closed Won and Closed Lost correspond to deals won or lost, while Custom allows you to build your own reports (see below).

Time range

You can set a reporting period such as “All time”, specific quarters or custom date ranges. The insights backend accepts a TimeRange value to limit the data set.

Opportunity scope

Choose whether to analyze all opportunities or only those you own. This helps you compare team‑wide performance to your personal pipeline.

Insight card

Each insight card shows key details about a single closed deal - company, deal title, stage, value and close date. New insights are marked so you can easily find fresh analyses. Clicking a card opens a detailed view (e.g., call transcripts, key buyer objections, recommended messaging).

View controls

You can switch between card and table views using the view selector. The active view is stored in the query parameters so it persists across page reloads.

Using Closed Won/Closed Lost insights

  1. Open the Insights page. ClickInsights in the navigation sidebar or navigate to /insights. By default the Closed Won tab is selected.
  2. Switch between Closed Won and Closed Lost. Select the tab corresponding to the report you want to view.
  3. Filter the report. Use the time range picker to choose a predefined period or custom dates. Choose “All” or “My Opps” to set the opportunity scope. Click the reset button to clear filters and reload insights.
  4. Browse insight cards. Scroll through the cards to see individual deal insights. Each card shows the company name, deal title, stage, value and close date, along with an indicator if the insight is new. Click on a card to view detailed insight narratives and analysis.
  5. Change the view. Use the view selector to toggle between card and table layouts. Table view displays insights in rows for easier comparison; card view emphasises individual narratives. Your selection is reflected in the URL and persists when you return to the page.

Use these reports regularly to spot trends. Closed Won insights reveal what’s working - highlight those tactics in future deals. Closed Lost insights show patterns behind losses, helping you adjust strategy to improve win rates.
